A Greeting of Sorts

Well, first off let me say that this is the first post of my first official blog! So, welcome! Let me start by explaining myself a little bit. I am currently a sophomore boy in high school and I am an avid poet, writer, and reader. I also enjoy long walks on the beach. Just kidding. I am a swimmer, a tennis player, a musician, and a kid who, probably like you, fights with their parents about who knows what. Now let me get to the heart of this post. Why I have decided to create this thing in the first place. Well, this is a blog intended for young adults to express their thoughts and feelings on typical "teen vs. parent" matters. I'm sure that we've all had at least one argument in which we think we are totally right or that our parents are being completely unfair. I'm also sure that many of you have, in an act of desperation, googled "how to get along better with your parents" or "how to get parents to listen". I've done it. And to my dismay, I discovered that there were no sites in which KIDS could get some advice on how to deal with their parents. It was all about how parents can get their kids to listen to them. Curious, I read through most of these other webpages and didn't find one piece of solid advice on how kids can get what THEY want out of an argument, instead of pouting and being punished. At first, I was a little disappointed but then I realized that this was my calling! I could be the first child to ever give advice to other kids on how to survive childhood. But then I realized, I have no idea myself. So the real purpose of this blog is to help educate one another. To aid another teenager in need of some advice. To listen, to give opinions, and to develop new ideas on how to get our parents to understand us. Now that I have introduced myself and this blog, I would love to hear from anyone. Who are you? Where are you from? How did you find this blog? Feel free to comment on this blog if you want to message me privately. I'll do my best to check this regularly but I have a lot to juggle. Anyways, I hope that some of us out there find this blog. And that they like what I'm doing. They like it enough to tell a friend about it. And as we all know, the internet spreads like a rumor in our hallways. I'm not interested in making this famous so that I can make money, I just hope that we could all help each other. That's all.
